Vanessa Hallum is our new staff member in Team 1; she is acting in Anne Micallef's position while Anne is away on Maternity Leave.
Vanessa has a background in Human Resources; beginning with a recruitment focus, she then moved into a generalist personnel officer role in 1998. She has worked in the health sector for approximately 3 years, and was then employed by the University of New South Wales before joining Macquarie.
Vanessa completed her Diploma in Human Resources in 1998 and is currently studying for her Bachelor of Economics - her current interest is in labour relations.
Vanessa enjoys working in universities because she finds people are easy-going, have a good attitude to learning and further education and the provision of thorough on-the-job training is good. She has also found that universities have a strong commitment to fairness and EEO principles.
