Nick Crowley is our new Employee Relations Manager.

He has come to us from UTS, where he was Senior Employee Relations Officer. Whilst at UTS, he spent most of his working time grappling with some of the more challenging and idiosyncratic aspects of employee relations within the higher education industry. In recent times he has assisted more broadly by acting (literally) as Chair of the NSW Industrial Practictioners Group.

He has two degrees from UTS, and in past lives worked with several NSW employer associations.

Patsy Moss, Human Resources Officer, is replacing Anne Kumanan who is away on maternity leave until January 2006.

Patsy has in depth commercial administrative experience in human resources, financial, hobby retail and real estate environments. Her major strength lies within co-ordination as she is highly organised and enjoys working in a team.

Her experience in HR includes the complete recruitment process through to induction, arranging assessment centres and organising targeted selection training. Also as an account manager for a marketing company she gained experience organising advertisements in media publications to meet tight deadlines.

Patsy is thoroughly enjoying working with the HR team at Macquarie University. The training has been so good and there is always help available from work colleagues. Also she finds the on line Macquarie University Directory is so very helpful. She enjoys exploring the University in her lunch hour with the help of her map and being around the students who are so obviously having a good time whilst doing their degrees. Working for the first time in a flexible environment is just such a bonus.

Walking, gardening, and visiting interesting food outlets (cooking yummy meals) and attending the ballet at the Opera house, compete for her time with her family and friends, and her love of playing on the computer especially organising her photos in Adobe Photoshop and electronically scrap booking.
