Stephen Blair
Stephen was employed as a Business Administration Trainee in 2006 and during his traineeship became successful in gaining full-time employment with Macquarie University. .
Stephen grew up in Macksville, and attended Macksville High School, completing his HSC in 2002.
He moved to Sydney shortly after to gain employment, Stephen worked in various jobs until he found stability at Raines Carpets where he worked for 2 years as Head Cutter trimming carpet to fit floor plans.
Stephen found out about the traineeship program, and decided to apply. He was successful and given an opportunity for employment with Macquarie University as a Trainee under the Indigenous Employment Strategy's Indigenous Traineeship Program.
What are the best things about working for the University?
I feel like I'm doing something that's contributing to my peoples' future. Just knowing that I'm helping students get their qualifications to take back and better their communities.
