Enterprise Agreement

The University, staff and union representatives have concluded negotiations on the new Enterprise Agreement. It is expected that the new Agreement will assist the University to meet the compliance requirements for funding available under the Federal Government’s Higher Education Workplace Relations Requirements (HEWRRs).

The Workplace Relations Act 1996 requires that collective agreements be approved through a ballot process, which provides staff with the opportunity to vote on the Agreements.

Ballot Process

The University must make the following documents available to staff for a period of at least 7 days prior to conducting the ballot:

The ballot for approving the Agreements will be conducted by a show of hands at a meeting to be held on Monday 28 August.

If a majority of those staff that cast a valid vote decide that they want to approve the collective agreement, the agreement will be approved and then lodged with the Office of the Employment Advocate.
